What is MR/AR?
The basics
Mixed and Augmented Reality melts the boundaries between computer generated 3D computer graphics and the physical reality of user's environment. An array of technology and techniques are used to provide a multi-sensory and richly layered simulation from Head Mounted Displays (HMDs) to embedded projection displays. The "mixing" can be accomplished by either video-see through or optical see-through devices. All disciplines from computer science, human factors, media production, product design and artistic expression play a role in advancing the innovative techniques of Mixed and Augmented Reality. Major definitive applications include education, entertainment, medical, military, design, manufacturing, mobile, marketing and media production.
